1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or utilizing GitSight, you enter into a binding agreement with GitSight Intelligence. These terms govern your use of our local-first metadata engine and analytical tools.
2. Open-Source License
GitSight is free and open-source software, released under the MIT License. There are no tiers, seats, quotas or paid plans — every feature ships unlocked to everyone.
- Use it however you likePersonal projects, client work, and commercial products are all permitted, including modification and redistribution.
- Keep the noticeThe MIT copyright and permission notice must travel with copies or substantial portions of the software.
- Embed the packageThe same terms cover the
gitsight-packagenpm library and thegitsight-extractCLI.
3. Ownership of Code & Data
The source code, including the "Traveling Light" logo and the visual design language, is published under the MIT License and is yours to fork, adapt and ship. Your locally processed Git data remains 100% your own property and never transitions into our possession.
4. Performance & Warranty Disclaimer
"GitSight results are calculated locally based on your provided Git logs. We provide the service 'as is' without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including the accuracy of AI-generated release summaries."
5. Local-Data Liability
Since all project data is stored locally in your browser's persistence layer, GitSight is not responsible for data loss resulting from browser cache deletion, local machine failure, or improper export procedures.
